Hello Family and Friends!!

What an excellent week!!

On Tuesday the most wonderful Elder and Sister Wright cooked us a thanksgiving meal! It made my day and week and probably even mission!! haha The turkey and ham and potatoes were pretty incredible!

As for mine and Sister Gibbs work!... We have had some pretty great experiences this week. First. We went to teach this women that we talked to the other day. When we got to her home her Brother who lives there with her beckoned us in. We sat with them and asked them if we could share a message. Brother seemed very eager to listen and had many questions. We started teaching them the restoration and he kept stopping us to ask us questions, which I like...sometimes. We soon found out that he was more interested in debating with us then actually listening to our message. Come to find out he is a pasture of another church. The spirit definitely left as began to bash on Joseph Smith. I could feel my blood begin to boil as he talked about him. As I learn of Joseph Smith, love him, and bear testimony of him here on my mission he has truly become a corner stone in my testimony. After he finished going off about Joseph, me and Sister Gibbs both left him with our testimony that we know he is a prophet of God! This is one of the greatest spiritual experiences here on my mission. While testifying simply that I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, the spirit penetrated so deeply in my heart and soul and testified to me that he truly is!! Me and Sister Gibbs couldn't stop talking about this experience for the rest of the night.

On a more happier note, we found and taught someone this week that prayed to know if Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and received an answer! We taught Sister Lordes earlier this week and committed her to pray to know if Joseph is a prophet. When we came back to her on Saturday she was so excited and eager to tell us that she had prayed and that it was a "miracle" she had received and answer and knew that "jon smith is and apostle"! haha she didn't really get the name right...but nevertheless she knew! She said that that night she prayed and asked like we had said. She said she felt gosse bumps and started crying while praying and felt like he was there telling her he truly is a prophet. She loved describing to us her experience and i loved listening to her experience of how the testified to her. Sister Gibbs also committed her to write down her feelings and experience so she would never forget! We invited her to be baptized and she came to church for the first time yesterday! I am so excited for Sister Lordes and already love her so much!

How blessed we are to know and have the truth! And how blessed I am to get to teach and testify everyday of the truth! How blessed we are for the Prophet Joseph and the Restoration. And how blessed we are to have the Holy Ghost as our comforter, guide, and testifier of truth!

Love you all! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

To my Family!

My heart is so full! In all honesty this week wasn't the easiest week, but that's the mission and that's life. Each day we continue to go out and work, open our mouths teach people and share the beautiful message of the Restored Gospel. We get rejected a lot but I guess that's also part of life. Its all about finding joy despite the hardships. I love this gospel. I love my Savior. I am so grateful for his love and for his atonement, it gives me strength. I know that he lives. I feel so privileged everyday to get to wear his name and strive to represent him. I love you all so much and pray for your strength and safety always!

What a blessing this week has been! We had transfers this last week, surprisingly me and Sister Gibbs are companions again and we are still here in beautiful San Felipe! The day that we would be getting the transfer text as me and Sister Gibbs were starting our short morning run thinking that it could possibly be our last and chatting about what we think will happen with this new transfer. I so confidently said, "at least one of us is transferring" and she replied, "well you never know.." and i so confidently said again, "I'm at least 95% sure that one of us is being transferred" I think that lord is preparing me for eternal marriage or something because this is a record breaking 3 transfers together!! With that being said, I sure do love my companion sister Gibbs and am very blessed to get to learn from her and work with her! We definitely get in a lot of laughs together!

Another highlight of the week was that we thankfully happened to walk into one of our investigators who was supposed to get baptized this month, smoking... Of course I was disappointed to see her smoking, but I was more disappointed that she had been lying to us many times now. Of course overcoming and addiction is hard and only through the atonement and help can we overcome addictions like that. But being dishonest and lying is another story. We got to teach her a wonderful lesson about being honest! I can only think of how this lesson on honesty will be a lesson that I will need to teach with my future children... trunky ba ako...hahaha no! ;) What a blessing the mission is?!? I am learning so much!

Sorry no pictures this week! just imagine the Philippines beautiful palm trees, dirt roads, rice fields, caribao and two white american sister missionaries walking a long the way! love you all so much!

Hello to all!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic day! I just want to share one of my favorite scriptures 1 Nephi 11:17. This is the time when the spirit is teaching Nephi. If you have time study this chapter it is a great example of how to teach. It says "And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, i do not know the meaning of all things." Love this scripture so much! It has been an inspiration for me throughout my mission! There is no replacement for love and nothing compares to the love that our Heavenly Father has for us.

Love you all so much!

Hello hello hello!!!

What an eventful week! I will give a quick summery! ready?

Monday: We am alive and survived the storm. the storm actually wasn't super bad here in san felipe, but for other missionaries it was. On Sunday night 4 elders had gone to bed. One of them woke up a little while later because he saw a light. When he stood up there was water on their floor. By the time that he had woken up the other elders the water was up to their wastes. After managing to get out of their house (through the back door because the current was too strong to get out any other way). They swam to a wall and then were able to get on top of there roof before help came and got them. Their apartment was pretty much destroyed with all of their things as well. When they went back to go through their things the next day there was mud up to the ceiling and about 6 inches of mud on the ground. They shared with us their experience at out Zone conference. The lord was really looking over them!
Tuesday: we worked, smiled and shared the beautiful message of the gospel!
Wednesday: We got to meet Elder and Sister Haynie of the Seventy and got to receive council and inspiration from them! Sister Haynie said, "Love is the secret behind everything"! I agree!! Elder Haynie also mentioned love. He said, "as missionaries you have to have the type of love that when you walk into someones home or when you talk to someone they can feel your love." I I loved listening to them, they themselves are great examples of that type of love!
Thursday: Zone Conference! We got to listen again to Elder and Sister Haynie! And I got to share my farewell testimony...weird...
Friday: Because of the storm some of the Sisters apartments didn't have water and electricity, so we got to take them in! Fun! 8 Sisters in one house! We had a fun little slumber party!
Saturday: We had a beautiful family home evening with the Rogayon family before Brother Rogayon leaves to work in Saudi for 2 years. :( I love that family so much! They have been inspiring me sense the day that I got here in San Felipe! Of course we finished off the family home evening with games...and a tradition here is to put lip stick on the face of anyone that loses. It was all fun and games until we go to take off the lipstick and find out that it wasn't coming off. We all stood in front of the mirror for hours that night trying everything to get off the lipstick form our faces.
Sunday: The day of delight! My companion gave a great talk in Sacrament meeting! Go sister Gibbs!

What a blessing it is to be a missionary and to have so many great experiences! Love you all so much!
