Happy birthday to by wonderful brother Mitchell and happy rebirth to Brother Alex and his son Christian Dela Torre!

My heart is so full! I try not to have favorites, but I think that this baptism was very fulfilling and one of my favorites! This father and son were very prepared and ready to be baptized. We started teaching them about 3 months ago and they have been faithfully attending the full 3 hours of church ever since we started teaching them. They are studying and marking up their Book of Mormons and coming to our lessons prepared with questions from their readings. I love hearing Alex describe the change that he sees in himself as he learns and follows the gospel. He used to drink, smoke and get easily angry at his 2 boys, but now he doesn't! He can even notice a difference in the way he is a father to his children! He is learning to become more like our Savior.

The work with Sister Gibbs is going very well! We have been seeing a lot of progression and improvements and receiving much revelation in our work. Yesterday we were on our way to an appointment with a less active when a Sister that we had a taught a couple of days ago called out to us. After our lesson with her a couple of days ago she had told her husband, who went blind, about us and he wanted to meet us. She took us to her home and we got to meet him and their beautiful kids and share a beautiful message with them about the gospel. The spirit was so strong during that lesson, sister had tears in her eyes as brother accepted an invitation to be baptized!

I love going into the homes of so many different families getting to know them and sharing with them the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ! There truly is no other work as satisfying and fulfilling as missionary work. When we met this man who was blind, shook his hand, sat down with him and talked with him I couldn't help but think about the life and stories of Christ. I wanted to do what Christ had done to the sick afflicted and blind, heal them! I know that our message of his gospel heals and strengthens, I have seen it over and over throughout my mission. How blessed I am to get to walk the steps that our Savoir walked and strive to represent him by healing and lifting others and sharing with them his glorious gospel!

Love you all so much and love this work so much!

Hello to all!!

So I just want to talk about our wonderful day that me and my companion had yesterday! We got to go to District Conference and here from our wonderful leaders about tithing, fasting, forgiveness, and the inspiriting question of young boy Joseph that lead to the Restoration, "which of all of these churches is true?"

After that we got fed by some members my favorite, chicken curry! Then we went out and worked (my other favorite)! We taught this man who was washing the bike of his 15 year old daughter, it reminded me of my own sweet father who would drop anything to do something for his daughters. We taught him and his wife about the Restoration, our message as missionaries. That is probably one of my most memorable lessons. The spirit was so strong especially as my companion explained the experience of Joseph Smith. Wow, truth is so great! It was undeniable that this man and his wife felt the truthfulness of the message of the restoration. We extended them the invitation to be baptized which he declined nicely. It made me sad, but at least we have the peace that we fulfilled our purpose as missionaries to declare simply the truth of the restored gospel. After that lesson while we were walking to our next appointment me and my companion talked about the lesson. I said, "wow that was a good lesson" she said, "yeah i was filling it" and I replied, "I could feel you feeling it!!" The spirit is amazing!!!

Then we had an interesting experience of teaching our investigators and one of her relatives who is a pasture at a baptist church. After finishing our lesson the pasture asked if he could also share with us. We said sure. He asked us many questions like "are you saved?" "when did you know you were saved?" "have your received eternal life?" and so on and so forth. It was a very interesting experience to hear his opinion on doctrine. At the end we gave him a Book of Mormon and told him that The Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and can answer all of our life questions. I love that book so much! We are so blessed to have The Book of Mormon and  need it everyday.

It states in my call letter, "As you devote your time and attention to serving the Lord, leaving behind all other personal affairs, the Lord will bless you with increased knowledge and testimony of the Restoration and of the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ." How true that promise is!! I love the message of the Restoration, it is a perfect message of truth!

And at the end of the night when we got back to our apartment and  finished off our day with a nice bowl of EC (its my favorite cereal these days) and my companion had a boiled egg.

Love the Lord and his work and you all so much!

Hello to the most amazing people in the world!

San Felipe is still as beautiful as ever and my companion is still as fast as ever! I am having trouble keeping up with her on our morning runs, it is great! This week we had many happy and successful Family Home Evenings! Family Home Evening is were it is at!!

We also got a new housemate named Sister Sloan, she is a ball of energy and so much fun! She also has my favorite accent of all, the New Zealand accent!

Alex is progressing greatly! And will be getting baptized her in 2 weeks!! He is really loving the Book of Mormon! Our lessons are so fun with him because he has so many questions from his readings.

This is a picture of Sister Aurrora who will also be getting baptized in October! She walks for about 2 hours to get herself to church every week even with crooked legs.

Love you all so much and love missionary work even more! Be a missionary to everyone around you!

Hello family and friends!

What a great week! So many new challenges and so many new miracles!
Something I didn't realize that I would enjoy so much on the mission was all the new and wonderful people that I get to meet! There is so much that I can learn from each and every companion, housemate, branch president, the people in each branch and even the random people I get to talk to each day.

This week while we were coming home from a meeting I was sitting next to this sister on the bus. I immediately started talking to her in Tagalog thinking she was filipina but she was actually Japanese. As I got to know her I found out that she doesn't believe in Christ and in a God. I was surprised and for a little while didn't know how to approach her because it is very rare that you will run into someone here in the Philippines that doesn't believe in Christ. I gave her an the Articals of faith and started explaining to her how we believe in a literal Father in Heaven and in His Son Jesus Christ. It was such a great learning experience for me, and I am sure for her as well.

The picture below is a picture of Nanay Natividad. Nanay Natividad was baptized this last week! I look up to her faith and strength. For the last couple of months she has been walking for 2 hours to get to church in the blazing heat. She has also walked herself to her baptizam! What a great example of real faith!!

How blessed I am to be a missionary and to get to see the Lords hand in everyday her on the mission! He loves each and everyone of his children so much! He wants the very best for each of us, he wants us to be like him!! I love my Savior! I know he lives and I know that it is only through him that I can return to my Heavenly Father and someday become like him!!!

Love you all so much! spread the light of the gospel to everyone around you!!

Hello Family and Friends!

Wow what a week! Another transfer has come and gone. I am now companions with the great Sister Gibbs from the hills of Colorado. This Sister loves to run so that makes me smile. He have started going alongside the beach every morning! I know, I have the best area! :)

Other than the beautiful runs on the beach this week has been a lot of chaos. I am actually grateful for the chaos, I am learning how to work through the chaos without letting the chaos work on me, its kind of fun. Something that president Dahle loves stating is how putting chaos into order is the work of Gods! I like that! I am forever grateful for my mission because it has taught me how to truly pray! I love prayer. I love love love speaking with my Heavenly Father! There is no greater remedy or medicine then getting down on my knees and speaking with my perfect all knowing Heavenly Father. I know that he knows each one of our hearts, he knows us so perfectly!

Love you all so much! Have a fantastic week!
